Professional Experience

I am a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst with 32 years experience in private practice. I graduated from Columbia University School of Social Work in 1974, Dallas Psychoanalytic Institute in 2003 and was certified by the American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) in 2006.

I have served on the faculty of The Oregon Psychoanalytic Institute (OPI) in Portland, teaching candidates and community psychotherapists in their Psychotherapy Training Program and Prelude classes. I also supervised psychotherapists from these programs.

I am a published clinical writer. I have written for and have served as Senior Correspondent on the editorial board of The American Psychoanalyst, a newsletter/magazine of the APsaA.

I have served on several educational committees of the Board on Professional Standards of the APsaA. In addition to serving as OPC’s Executive Councilor to the Executive Council of the APsaA, I have served as the chair of the Committee on Societies and Centers of the ExCouncil. I have also served on several committees of OPC, including the Development Committee and the Continuing Education Committee.
